Harvey is well connected in Greater Hobart area through his previous role as Chief Executive of Royal Automobile Club of Tasmania (RACT) from 2010 to 2019. Highlights of that period included:

1.  Joint venture with RACV to acquire and upgrade Hobart Apartment Hotel in Collins Street Hobart;

2. Negotiated and returned Learn-to-Drive School to provide a stronger connection with younger Tasmanians; 

3. Acquisition of a number of regional tourism businesses and a nationally awarded retail travel joint venture;

4. Enhancing organisational culture and developing its people; and

5. Consistently achieving growth KPIs including financial, customer experience, employee satisfaction and brand.

Prior to commencing with RACT, he had 10 years in a wide range of senior roles with Tasmanian Department of Treasury and Finance.

Harvey is proud to be an officer in the Australian Army Reserve and supporting the arts through being a Director of Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. He has previously had involvement with a number of community sector organisations including 12 years as a director of Colony 47 - three years as Chair. Harvey is a member of Scouts Australia and has been a member of Rostrum Tasmania since 1995 where he helps younger members of the community gain skills in speaking for a variety of occasions.

Currently,  he is a Senior Advisor (Finance) to State Minister for Finance, Hon Michael Ferguson MHA.

Harvey is a Fellow of the Australian Society of CPAs and a Graduate of the Institute of Strategic Leadership. He is married to Lee and has five adult children.
